QLD: Bad weather hampers search for missing fisherman
BRISBANE, Feb 8 AAP - Bad weather today stopped boats searching for a fisherman missing
north of Fraser Island but helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft were continuing to sweep the
area, police said.
Les Brasher was last seen at 7.30am on Saturday when two big waves overturned an eight
metre launch carrying seven men on a daylong fishing trip.
The group was thrown into the water and two of them battled for 14 hours, reaching the
shore at 9.30pm to raise the alarm.
One of the other four left clinging to their upturned boat slipped …
