Fed: ACT chief Stanhope attacks critics of firefighters

CANBERRA, Jan 21 AAP - ACT Chief Minister Jon Stanhope today blasted critics who claimedfire authorities failed to adequately prepare for the firestorm that ripped through Canberra.

He attacked the media and other critics whom he said had been judge, jury and executorand had defamed the ACT Emergency Services Bureau.

"It's one of the grave concerns I have from the armchair experts that have appearedfrom everywhere, most I must say from the media, who have already done the inquest, apportionedblame and found and executed the culprit it seems," Mr Stanhope told ABC Radio.
